Learning from the Rubik’s Cube

Rubik’s CubeUp till two days ago I had never solved a Rubik’s cube in my life. My colleague who sat beside me had a cube so i picked it up and fiddled around with it. Of cause I got no where. So I borrowed his cube home, and with the help of a video and a guide, I figured out how to solve it in two hours. By just practicing for another two hours last night, and an hour today. I can now solve the cube, which can take on 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 ((8! × 38−1) × (12! × 212−1)/2) different positions, in about 10 minutes.

More then just being able to solve the Rubik’s cube, I’ve learned two important lessons…

1) Bumping around won’t get you to your destination! You need a strategy.
2) Google + You = Knowledge
