Here’s how to reset your Windows XP password if you forgot it.

You need:

1) A CD-ROM drive
2) A Bootable Windows XP CD & the CD Key

The Steps:

1. Boot up with the Windows XP CD
2. Press enter to continue (don’t press R here)
3. Press F8 to agree to Licensing Agreement
4. Now press (R) to do a recovery
5. Let Recovery run till it restarts automatically.
6. After it restarts, DO NOT press “any key” to boot from CD
7. The setup will still start again automatically
8. In the setup screen, at the “Installing Windows” step, press SHIFT + F10
9. Hooray Microsoft security loop hole 4daWin… a Command Prompt appears!
10. Type “NUSRMGR.CPL”
11. Remove or change the password of your selected user
12. You must complete the whole setup process
